The property of "The Edge" as an extension of the Kasumai Resort is located in the middle of the tourist area of the Gambia, more precisely in the second row at Bijilo beach. It is a central and very busy area with beautiful views over the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The main road is not far away, yet one is isolated from the noise of the road traffic by other buildings. At weekends, the "Who is Who" of the Gambia meet here, all enjoying the beautiful stretch of beach, the sea and the great atmosphere. There is a Red Cross rescue base on the beach in this area, which ensures more safety when staying on the beach.
Nearby in the north is the well-known Bijilo Forest Park stretching over approx. 51.3 hectares. The park is a nature reserve and home to many of the famous red and green monkeys (western green monkeys and Temminck colobus monkeys) in The Gambia. A sign-posted educational forest trail leads through the jungle-like forest area. The area of the Bijilo forest is considered to be the last natural West-Atlantic coastal forest and home to a variety of plant species. Among others, the Ethiopian Palmyra palms can be found here, which are the last greater populations in The Gambia. Although you are in a central, upscale settlement area with several well-known addresses, nature and the associated peace and relaxation area is not far away.
